A quick look at some of the rookies making an impression in your 05/06 draft league or replay.

 

Andrew Bogut, Milwaukee Bucks

Comment:  The ’05 #1 pick moves to center and should get more minutes.

Positives: rebounds, normal passing
Negatives;  too many R shot readings, foul trouble

 

Raymond Felton, Charlotte Bobcats
Comment:  Dramatic improvement late in season, seen as a foundation or cornerstone player.
Positives:  dazzler, steal ability
Negatives:  horrific shooting percentage, foul trouble

 

Channing Frye, New York Knicks
Comment:  Expected to turn into top PF based on rookie effort.
Positives: LF rebounding, inside shot column, free throw
Negatives:  foul trouble, X columns

 

Ryan Gomes, Boston Celtics
Comment:  Dropped 29 on Philly but seen as caught between SF and PF.

Positives:  decent shooting percentage, LF/RF rebounding
Negatives:  0 shooting, R shot column readings
 

Danny Granger, Indiana Pacers
Comment:  Backup small forward who needs help getting in flow of game.
Positives:  LF/RF rebounding
Negatives:  poor shooting columns, foul trouble

 

Luther Head, Houston Rockets
Comment:  A rotation figure but not the answer for Houston at point.
Positives: fast break column, three-point shot
Negatives:  poor shooting columns, foul trouble, free throw

 

Rashad McCants, Milwaukee Bucks
Comment:  Believes in himself but may miss half of the season with knee injury.
Positives:  good outside and fastbreak shot
Negatives:  foul trouble


Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Comment:  NBA ROY is a quick point guard who can run an offense.
Positives:  dazzlers, draws fouls, steal ability, good D rebounding
Negatives:  work on shooting percentage


Salim Stoudamire, Atlanta Hawks
Comment:  Plays behind Joe Johnson but can hit from the line and from downtown.  He’ll get minutes in the rotation.  
Positives:  three-point shot, free throw
Negatives:  poor shooting percentage, foul trouble

 

Charles Villanueva, Toronto Raptors
Comment:  He can score and has a big presence on court.

Positives:  LF/RF rebounding, inside/outside shot columns
Negatives:  free throws, foul trouble, X column
 

Deron Williams, Utah Jazz
Comment:  Not necessarily the answer for replacing John Stockton.
Positives:  minutes, normal passing, outside shot if open
Negatives:  poor shooting columns, foul trouble

 

Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks
Comment:  Progressed nicely but Hawks have players in mix for PF position.
Positives:  LF/RF rebounding
Negatives:  poor shooting percentage, foul trouble
