Playing Game: The bracket has been set and we're ready to start the tournament. Before scheduling a game with your opponent download the tournament file and install to make sure there are no errors with your team. Note, the tournament file is named 200607T and if you have another league that uses "200607T" remember to back up that league as it will be overwritten. Please review the rules (see above link) before playing your game.

Played Game: After playing your game the hosting team must zip together the gamefile (export folder), boxscore (this file is automatically saved to the print folder and this is a different file than what you have the option to save after the game), and the play-by-play (summary folder). I'll compile the tournament stats so we can name a tournament team/MVP and post the boxscores for all the games for everyone to see. The play-by-play will be available upon request for anyone that would like to use it to scout an opponent.

Participants:

Rules: The SOM Hoops Benefit Tournament will be setup as a double elimination tournament using the latest version of the Strat-O-Matic game using teams from the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. Since communication will be necessary during the game coaches will need to either have AIM setup. We will be using the NBA Current Rules, No Injuries, No Autorest, No Fatigue, Neutral Court, Board Game Cards, and Computer Rebounding. We will use both the Fastbreak and Putback at Coach's Options. Only the ten regular players as defined on the roster sheets will be eligible for the tournament excluding the extra players as well as the computer only players. Players will be restricted to their average minutes per game plus ten percent (>= 0.5 round up) plus ten percent. For example, a player who average 37.5 minutes per game is eligible to play no more than 41 minutes (37.5 + 3.75) in each game.

Teams: Each coach will select a team from the 2004-05 or 2005-06 season. The order of who selects their team first will be determined randomly at this chat room (date/time to be determined later) with a feature that randomly selects one item out of a list. Using this feature I will list the names of each tournament participant. Then, the first name chosen will be removed and this will continue until the entire order has been determined. In order to build up some suspense, the last name chosen will select their team first.

Bracket: The following tournament bracket will be used for a ten team tournament where the slots in the bracket will be determined randomly using a similar method described above.
